Evan told us he felt bad from his head to his toes this morning, so we knew something more was going on than sinus issues.
One CBC later we found out he's actually neutropenic. We were all surprised to hear this, including the doctor! And, because his neutrophils are so low he probably did pick up a virus. He had a low grade fever this a.m., but was feeling a bit better by bedtime.
We're hoping his counts rebound by Monday, so we can stay on track for his scans on Tuesday. We'll keep you posted. Thanks for checking in.

Evan came home sick from school this morning complaining of a headache, and nausea. He woke up with a sore throat which generally means he's having sinus issues. Tylenol and Clariton seem to be doing the trick, he's feeling much better this evening.
We had our consult with the Pediatric Surgeon today and everything is a go for removing Evan's g-tube next Tuesday. Please say a prayer that Evan's stomach heals properly and there are no complications from this procedure.

Just a short update. Evan is still feeling good and was able to start attending school full time last week. His blood counts from last week were all good, too.
This Thursday we'll visit with his pediatric surgeon to discuss the removal of his g-tube. He hasn't needed to use it for food since the first week of July, we only use it now for medicines. We're hoping they'll be able to remove the tube on Sept. 1st while Evan's under for his MRI, etc. One more step on the road to recovery.
Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and continued prayers.
